FAQ
Class Overview
The Tuesday class is a drop off style class for High School students in 9th-12th grade.
The Art Academy program is designed to encourage creativity, independent thinking, material exploration, vocabulary, and develop an understanding of Visual Art. The High School class will look at historical artists, art movements, and develop individual work in the mediums of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and collage. Students will be asked to brainstorm/work outside of class time.
Minimum number of students needed is 4, maximum number is 16.
Payment
Tuition is $500 per student per semester. You can pay in full or opt for a payment plan of $90 at registration + installments of $102.50 for Sep, Oct, Nov, and Dec.
Second and third children registered receive 15% off tuition, with code SIBLING (all caps)
What to Wear
Have your student wear clothes you don't mind getting messy.
Food & Drink
Water is fine, but no other outside food or drinks please.
Parent Involvement
These classes are designed for your student to create with a sense of independence in their art making and problem solving. For this reason, parents are asked to drop off their children for this class. However, there is a small seating area if you’d like to stay through class.
Arrival/End Time
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes early for class. Arriving too early can be disruptive to set up for class. Please be on time to pick students up because another class starts soon.
Make-Up Classes
If your student misses class, I will either provide a video of the lesson emailed to you that week or work out another day to come a make up the lesson. If you need to switch days due to an absence, please tell me beforehand to make sure I have enough seats in the other class.
End of Semester Art Show
A selection of student artwork will stay at the studio for the duration of the semester until the end of semester art show on the last day of class. The last day of class, we open up the studio for family to come view student work. Stay a little while to shop for goodies and socialize with friends. All student artwork will go home after the art show.
Cancellation
Semester long classes are non-refundable.
