FAQ:
Class Overview
The Monday and Tuesday class is a drop off style class for K-5th grade. The Art Academy program is designed to encourage creativity, independent thinking, material exploration, vocabulary, and develop an understanding of Visual Art. This is accomplished through learning about artists, art movements, and learning to control a variety of media such as acrylic paint, watercolor, clay, wire, paper, scissors, glue, and pencil work.
Minimum number of students needed for the class to make is 4, maximum number of students is 14.
These are NOT paint-by-number, craft classes, sip ‘n paint type classes. The main goal is not the finished project but instead the process of creating and exploring media, ideas, and tehniques. Therefore, not all artwork will look “fridge worthy”, eventhough they may have worked really hard and learned new things. These are art education classes with student choice!
Artwork:
Students will take artwork home every other class period. Having extra time in class will allow the students to spend a little more time and expand the nature of the projects. Thanks for understanding that you won’t get to see the projects every week. We will complete 7 beautiful finished Art pieces each semester!
Payment
Tuition is $340 per child per semester. You can pay in full or opt for a payment plan of $90 at registration + installments of $84 for March, April, May.

Parent Involvement
These classes are designed for your student to create with a sense of independence in their art making and problem solving. For this reason, parents are asked to drop off their children for this class. However, there is a seating area if you’d like to stay through class. Additionally, if you student is under 6 years old, you are asked to sit with them and assist as necessary.
Arrival/End Time
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes early for class. Arriving too early can be disruptive to set up for class. Please be on time to pick students up because another class starts soon.
Make-Up Classes
If your student misses class, I will either provide a video of the lesson emailed to you that week or work out another day to come a make up the lesson. If you need to switch days due to an absence, please tell me beforehand to make sure I have enough seats in the other class.
End of Semester Art Show
A selection of student artwork will stay at the studio for the duration of the semester until the end of semester art show on the last day of class. The last day of class, we open up the studio for family to come view the kid's artwork. Stay little while to shop for goodies and socialize with friends. All student artwork will go home after the art show.
